Alexandra Dominguez and her friends went on a hiking adventure during the summer.
As they were driving through the woods, one of her friends shouted, “KITTY! There was a cat back there! Turn around!”
They turned their car around and saw a cat sitting by the road.
The cat came up to them and started meowing and rubbing up against their legs.
Then, to their surprise, another cat emerged from the woods, followed by more cats!
It turns out that there were two mama cats and their nine babies that had been abandoned in the woods.
The babies were scared and the mama cats needed help, so Alexandra and her friends hiked through the woods to find the kittens with the help of the mama cats.
Being crazy cat ladies, Alexandra and her friends knew they had to help.
They managed to catch all the cats and brought them back with them.
They fed and washed them and called around to shelters, but none could take them in until about a week later.
So, they called everyone they knew to ask if they wanted a cat.
Finally, Alexandra’s boyfriend found a couple of friends who would take them, but in the meantime, Alexandra fell in love with two little runts who needed a little extra TLC.
She begged her boyfriend, who is slightly allergic to cats, to keep them and he eventually relented.
Now, Alexandra is a very happy cat mom to her two spoiled boys, Luce and Bub. And although her boyfriend will never admit it, he’s a crazy cat dad too.
As Alexandra said, “I was trying very hard not to get attached. However, being a cat-lover whose 18-year-old family cat had just passed away a couple of months earlier, I could not resist. I grew very fond of the two little runts who needed a little extra TLC.”
This just goes to show that sometimes, unexpected adventures can lead to the most wonderful things, like the joy of becoming a cat parent.
