Have you ever had a moment where destiny seemed to lead you to three adorable kittens in need? Well, that’s exactly what happened to Donna, an animal rescuer from @feralcatcolony, who has dedicated herself to caring for community cats, getting them spayed and neutered, and finding loving homes for friendly felines.
One Saturday, while Donna was at a cat colony, she noticed some extra food left out in the area. Initially, she thought someone had come to feed the cats, but to her surprise, three tiny newcomers emerged from the shadows.
As soon as Donna spoke, these pint-sized kittens came running to her. The grey kitten led the way, with his two siblings closely following suit. The moment Donna held them, their purr motors activated, and the grey kitten even stretched out his happy paws. After a good cleaning, they devoured some food and quickly dozed off in a comfortable bed, catching up on some much-needed sleep.
These kittens were abandoned at the location without a mother in sight. At just four weeks old, they weighed less than a pound and required round-the-clock care. Without hesitation, Donna took them in and created a cozy space for them.
“They had a great night, using the litter box, eating, and drinking like champs,” Donna shared with us.
After a vet visit and treatment for their eyes, the feline siblings were well on their way to recovery, steadily gaining weight. Donna was determined to help them fatten up and grow strong.
Meet Woody (the grey one), Bryson (the black tabby), and Kenzie (the solid black kitten) – the names they lovingly received. These smart little kittens quickly figured out how to eat from a dish and initiated the weaning process on their own.
“They were truly three of the smartest little 4-week-olds I’ve ever fostered. They taught themselves how to cat. I did very little to show them the ropes. They wrestled, played with toys, snuggled together, and loved each other.”
In just one week, Kenzie and Bryson crossed the one-pound mark, quickly catching up to their brother Woody. It didn’t take long for them to venture beyond their playpen and explore the vastness of their new home.
“They made for some fun and laughs here in our home. Kenzie is extremely loving and just melts in your arms. She holds her own when it comes to her brothers,” Donna added.
The kittens tumbled and rumbled wherever they went. Woody discovered his penchant for shoulder rides and inspired his siblings to join in the fun.
“They are purr machines that enjoy using me as their cat tree.”
When the trio was big enough for adoption, they were spayed and neutered, then joined the adoption program at Cats Are People, Too! Club to find their forever homes.
Woody quickly captured the hearts of a loving family, complete with another cat, a dog, and two human sisters. Bryson and Kenzie, a bonded pair, found a fantastic home together. They’ll never be apart.
“We had a blast fostering these babies. They brought us nothing but fun, joy, happiness, and tons of laughs,” Donna shared.
This trio of kittens has come a long way and is now thriving in their forever families, living their best lives.
