In the twilight of his years, 21-year-old Tigger found himself abandoned at a local veterinary surgery, bewildered and wondering why his human left him.

Enter Adriene Buisch, also known as Nicole. She stumbled upon Tigger’s story on the Canton Neighbors page and couldn’t turn away. Nicole decided to bring him home, driven by the desire to give this elderly cat the love and care he deserved.

Unfortunately, Tigger’s health wasn’t in the best shape. Nicole soon discovered he had kidney failure and a golf ball-sized tumor. He was underweight, and his once majestic fur was tangled and matted.

Undeterred, Nicole embarked on a journey to nurse Tigger back to health. With a special diet, assistance, and a generous dose of love, Tigger gained a few pounds, and his fur underwent a remarkable transformation, growing back beautifully.

But Nicole didn’t stop there. Despite Tigger’s health challenges, she declared, “Though he has kidney failure and we found a tumor, he kicks it like a 12 yr old.” Inspired by his resilience, Nicole decided to create a bucket list filled with random adventures for him.

“Though it might not be much to others, all the little trips outside are a blast for him because he loves to be outdoors… the beach being his favorite so far,” Nicole shared.

Tigger’s love for the beach matches his affection for Nicole.

“The most important part is that Tigger’s story just shows how amazing it is to adopt a geriatric pet and give them the best remaining days!” Nicole emphasized. “He has forever changed our hearts and will hopefully change the hearts of others when it comes to adopting older pets!”

So, if you’re thinking about bringing a furry friend into your home, why not consider offering a forever loving home to an older cat? Tigger’s story is a testament to the incredible joy and fulfillment that adopting a senior pet can bring to your life.
