A hungry and injured kitten was found on a busy highway in Belize, Central America.
His jaw was broken, he was starved, bruised and bloody. The poor kitty was so weak that the vets suggested putting him to sleep.
But just in time, a kind-hearted woman drove by and scooped him up in her car. The kitten, named Smeagol, seemed to say “thank you” with a soft meow.
The woman immediately brought him to the nearest vet, where Smeagol received the urgent medical care he needed.
After six weeks of antibiotics, Smeagol finally began to recover. Although his jaw was still a bit crooked, he was able to eat and no longer suffered.
The woman who rescued him took him home and showered him with all the love he had once been denied.
Now, a year later, Smeagol is doing incredibly well. He has his own Facebook page and Instagram account where his mom shares all his adorable moments of happiness. What a transformation from the starving, injured kitten on the highway!
